MyCase Adds Docketwise to its Portfolio

By Aly Schilperoort

MyCase is proud to announce its acquisition of Docketwise, top-rated immigration software and case management solution for lawyers.

“We’ve always sought to empower law firms with the technology they love and that is exactly the kind of software that Jeremy and James have built at Docketwise,” said Jim McGinnis, CEO of MyCase. “By joining forces, we’re so excited to bring modern tools to a broader set of immigration law firms.”

Docketwise’s journey began after its founders noticed a gap in the market for immigration-based legal software. In 2016, Canadian native Jeremy Peskin teamed up with his immigration lawyer, James Pittman, to create a comprehensive immigration solution for law firms that met the unique needs of immigration lawyers.

Docketwise has grown over the years to host a full suite of features that streamline immigration case management from intake to invoicing to payments. The platform takes innovation to the next level by providing multilingual intakes that dynamically generate immigration applications based on answers to simple questions. As of today, Docketwise empowers thousands of law offices ranging from solo attorneys, nonprofits to large firms.

“We’re thrilled to join the MyCase team,” said Peskin. “MyCase’s acquisition of Docketwise provides a major growth opportunity to accelerate product development and our customer base, and we couldn’t be more excited to be part of the growing MyCase family.”

This acquisition comes following a year of significant growth and expansion for MyCase. Since Apax Partners acquired MyCase in October 2020, MyCase added three leading legal technology providers to its ranks: Soluno (Legal Accounting), CASEpeer (Practice Management for Personal Injury Firms), and Woodpecker (Legal Document Automation). Many new integrations like MailChimp, Smith.ai, and most recently, LEX Reception (bonus: a Zoom integration is currently in the works) have also been added to the MyCase platform, thus offering additional flexibility and customization.

But that’s not all. In addition to this acquisition, we are excited to launch our newest integration with Docketwise. This integration will enable firms to automate the preparation of immigration forms for clients and matters stored in Docketwise by sharing contacts and matters across MyCase and Docketwise. With a two-way sync between both platforms, it eliminates the need to repeat data entry while giving MyCase customers a simple way to use the most powerful immigration software.

This association will further MyCase’s vision of rapid growth and innovation through strategic acquisitions, partnerships, and integrations, making MyCase the most complete and easy-to-adopt ecosystem of legal software.
