MyCase Hires Nicole Black To Lead Cloud Computing Advocacy
Multiple ABA author and legal speaker to expand business development and client relations efforts.
San Diego, CA – March 20, 2012 – MyCase, Inc., the developers of MyCase, a social practice management™ platform for legal professionals, today announced that attorney Nicole Black, a well-known legal technology author, speaker, columnist, and widely regarded for her advocacy of cloud computing and social media in the legal profession, has joined the company as vice president primarily responsible for business development and customer engagement. Ms. Black will assume her full-time position with MyCase on April 2, 2012.
MyCase CEO and lawyer Matt Spiegel, who founded MyCase as a means for fellow attorneys to leverage web-based technologies to easily communicate with clients and manage their own practices, sees Nicole Black’s appointment as a way to significantly increase awareness and product use. “Nicole is a tremendous addition to our team. She already advises many firms and legal professionals on their use of mobile and web technologies and literally wrote the book on legal cloud computing and making the most out of SaaS technologies and the like. We know she will continue to spread the word about how a social practice management option like MyCase can truly turn into a productivity and client care game changer for law firms.”
In her new role, Ms. Black will primarily focus on generating new interest in MyCase, developing educational and thought provoking content around cloud computing, collaboration, and effective use of legal social media and web-based practice management technology.
“I'm so excited about joining MyCase because I truly believe in this product-it's what law practice management software should be,” stated Ms. Black. “Internet-based technologies, including mobile and cloud computing, have had a huge impact on our culture as a whole. The practice of law is not immune from this game changing phenomenon and MyCase embodies the very best of what these newfound technologies can offer the legal profession. As the author of "Cloud Computing for Lawyers," I've tested a large number of the available legal cloud computing applications and MyCase, with its unique, interactive, and collaborative interface is, in my estimation, the best platform available.”
Ms. Black concluded: “The MyCase team has an amazing vision and there are a number of ground-breaking innovations coming down the pike all developed with legal professionals and their day-to-day practice management challenges in mind. It's an exciting time to join MyCase and I'm thrilled to be on board.”
Nicole Black is an attorney in Rochester, New York and a GigaOM Pro analyst. About MyCase, Inc.
MyCase, Inc. was founded by Matthew Spiegel, a San Diego-based criminal attorney, who has been on an ongoing mission to leverage technology, in particular the web, to streamline and accelerate client communications and collaboration. After an extensive, yet unsuccessful search for existing technology that would meet his and his clients’ need to more efficiently communicate on cases and files, he assembled a core web development team and introduced the MyCase platform. It provides a comprehensive and intuitive cloud-based law practice management system coupled with a private portal that enables secure client communications. Lawyers can access their documents, emails, client contact information, billing data and more through a secure web-based interface or the MyCase mobile app. For more information, please visit www.mycase.com.
