A Bit of Backstory

Mark Fabiano started using MyCase in 2013 when he decided he needed a centralized practice management system. Since then, he has grown his caseload by an incredible 30% with no staff. We interviewed Mark to learn what parts of MyCase make the biggest impact on his bottom line and what he would tell current MyCase users who are looking to be more successful.

Have you found MyCase has helped you attract new clients and maintain your existing client base? If so, how?

Absolutely. It’s helped me be more organized and have a central repository where I can go to get things quickly. In court, I have everything I need at my fingertips, which certainly helps my confidence. People who aren’t even clients yet see that in the courthouse and say to themselves, “Wow! This guy’s got it together.” Current clients remember that and come back. I’m seeing more repeat business since using MyCase, and those clients send me other clients as well.

How has taking online payments helped your firm?

Online payments is incredibly helpful, particularly the credit card feature. I had never taken credit cards before, so it’s great to get paid and not worry about it anymore. What’s nice is that you don’t have to show anyone how to use it or do any hand-holding. I can just share an invoice with someone, they see the online payment option, and then they can pay right away. I actually had a client who hadn’t paid in 3 years. I enabled online payments and, amazingly, they paid.

Tell me about your website.

Before building a website through MyCase, I had been talking about doing some more marketing. I shopped around to a lot of places, and I particularly loved your law firm website designs. I was choosing between MyCase and another company, and ended up making my decision by calling another attorney in town with a MyCase website. He had the nicest things to say about the design team and the website setup process. I said, “Done! I’m getting a MyCase website.”

What have you had time to do with the time you’ve saved using MyCase?

Since it saves me hours every day, I’m able to be home with my family a lot more while keeping a close eye on my cases. For example, last Saturday, I was hanging out with my daughter riding bikes around the neighborhood. I was able to draft a complaint beforehand, send the draft to my client, go hang out with my daughter and ride bikes, and then go back and see if the draft came back. It was awesome! It has also freed up a lot of time to go to the gym. In fact, I ran my first half marathon in February!

MyCase is the best thing that ever happened to me. – Mark Fabiano
