It’s been a few months since we’ve posted a Product Docket update here on the MyCase blog, but that certainly doesn’t mean that our product and engineerings teams haven’t been making some big improvements and updates to MyCase. In fact, the past few months have been filled with dozens of big feature releases, making MyCase even better and more intuitive for attorneys.
So, let’s dive into some of the biggest and brightest updates — just in case you missed them!
1. MyCase Payments Update!
You may have already heard, but MyCase is excited to announce that we are expanding MyCase Payments to include a built-in credit card option in addition to the free eCheck/ACH service currently available! Our credit card service will be available to MyCase customers later in 2016 and will simplify even more aspects of your billing process — and help get you paid faster!
Plus, you’ll get the added satisfaction (and attention) of having direct access to our award-winning customer success team who will handle everything from getting you set up to answering questions or helping to address any issues you might encounter. That means no dealing with a third-party vendor or external payment processor integration!
The MyCase Payments Platform is just another example of our focus and dedication on creating an all-in-one software that is easy to use, so that you can rely on MyCase for all your law practice management needs, for years to come. Read the full blog post here for all the details.
2. Bulk Sharing Documents
You can now share multiple documents at once with the new bulk sharing feature!
We’ve made it easy to select and share multiple documents to a contact — saving you even more time. Just remember that the bulk sharing option will override all previous sharing settings for those documents selected.

3. Edit Trust Activity Display When Editing Invoice
MyCase users can now edit the display option for trust information with a simple toggle switch for whether they want to show trust history, a trust summary, or nothing at all — after the invoice creation! This feature was originally only available when applying trust funds on invoice creation, so if you forgot to “Show Trust History/Summary,” you’d have to delete and start again. Now, you can set this at any time after applying trust funds to the invoice.
4. Restricted Billing Permissions: Time And Expenses Only
We’ve created a permission in the Firm User Settings section that allows MyCase master and admin users to control what other users can see and have access to, including the ability to restrict to time and expenses only. This update will help keep firm financials confidential and hidden from lower-level staff.
When a user is set to “Restrict to Time Entries and Expenses Only,” in addition to viewing only time and expenses, the user will also not be able to see items like invoices, trust activity history, or accounts receivable. You can even specify additional permissions for a user to:
- Access data from every case in the system or only those he/she is linked to
- Add new attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to your firm’s MyCase account
- Edit user permission settings
- Delete items (events, documents, etc.) from MyCase
- Manage your firm’s preferences, billing, and payment options.

5. “Add” Action Buttons On Several Pages
On the contact detail pages, we wanted to let MyCase users quickly message or invoice a contact, so we’ve added several “Action Buttons” that will allow you to send a message (on the Contact Detail Page) or invoice a client (on the billing page) directly from the contact detail page.
Extra Bonus: New MyCase Knowledge Base Support Area
We thought we’d also mention we have an entirely new Knowledge Base support area for MyCase users! If you are new to MyCase, or just looking to sharpen your skills, our updated Knowledge Base is easy to navigate and filled with hundreds of help topics and how-to’s that will help you become a master of MyCase!
