App Check:
Brewster [non-legal][contact management]

brewsterEach month I highlight web or mobile apps that are useful to lawyers. Sometimes the apps are developed specifically for lawyers and other times I feature non-legal apps that are nevertheless interesting to lawyers.

Today’s app is Brewster, an iPhone and iPad app that facilitates contact management across your social networks. Once you download this app, it collects all of your social network contacts into a fully searchable database. This is a wonderful feature because for those of you who travel often, since it makes it so much easier for you to locate (and network with) your connections who live wherever you happen to be traveling to.

Brewster also automatically categorizes your contacts and allows you to create customs categories as well. Categories automatically created by that app that appear on my phone include “law practice,” companies for which I’ve worked, and schools that I’ve attended.

Finally, in January, the app was updated and now allows you to synch the app with your iPhone contacts. This new feature updates the contact information for all of your existing contacts and automatically includes  photos of your contacts for all incoming calls.

All in all, this is a really useful app that helps you to keep track of and organize your contacts from across the various platforms in a convenient, easily accessible database.

The app is free. You can download the iPhone and iPad apps here.
