What is your position with MyCase?
VP, Customer Experience.
How did you end up working for MyCase?
I had been following Appfolio for a couple of years and when this opportunity became available, I was excited to accept the challenge.
What does your job entail?
My team and I are responsible for customer success across customer service, training, value added services, and customer loyalty. Most of my time is focused on listening to customers and providing support to my teams to ensure they have the tools and knowledge to provide the best experience to our customers.
What is the most difficult part of your job?
As we look at all the opportunities available to help our customers be successful, I always want us to do more and do it faster. Even though this can be frustrating, I believe we have a great strategy in place to continue to build great products and services that will help our customers and their law practices.
What’s the best part of your job?
When our customers share how we’ve helped them improve something in their law firm or business process. A quick note sharing how appreciative they are that they have someone to talk to on the phone when they need help or that they were impressed with a website we designed and built for them will make my day every time.
Where are you originally from and how did you end up in Santa Barbara?
I have lived in Santa Barbara most of my life–my family moved here in the late 70’s. I went to college in Missouri and spent a few years on the East Coast post-graduation but made my way back home. I’ve been very fortunate to have had some great career opportunities right here in paradise.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
I enjoy early morning walks in the city while it’s just waking up. I am a lover of all kinds of music, so I try to get out to see live bands frequently. I also really enjoy cooking and entertaining and recently starting growing my own veggies on a tower garden.
Do you have any unusual hobbies?
I am officially retired now, but I played flat track roller derby for several seasons and was a founding member of Mission City Roller Derby and the Brawlin’ Betties.
Tell me about your family/pets, etc.?
I have an awesome husband and we are currently looking for a puppy to join our family. I am also an auntie and I love spoiling my nieces.
Do you have a favorite saying or quote and if so, what is it and why?
“If you can’t explain it simply, you don’t understand it well enough.” – Albert Einstein
There is a lot of unnecessary complexity in business and life and breaking things down to its most simplistic state can really help.
