What is your position with MyCase?
I am the founder and VP/GM of MyCase.
Why did you start MyCase?
I started MyCase because I was experiencing pain in my own practice that I had just opened. I was having trouble managing all of my open cases and staying organized. But more importantly, I was having difficulty in maintaining the level of communication that my clients expected and deserved. I tried out the leading web-based law practice management programs available at the time and none of them worked for me. So I decided to create a platform that would meet my needs.
What is your vision for MyCase?
My vision for MyCase is to be the only place that lawyers need to go in order to run and manage their entire practice. MyCase will be a one-stop-shop for everything a law office needs to be in business. It is also my vision that MyCase maintains the principles of customer happiness and superior product that have gotten us this far.
What do you like most about leading the MyCase team?
Without a doubt what I like the most about leading this team is the people. I have the incredible pleasure of working with the greatest group of people that anyone could ask for. From top to bottom we have a cohesive, dedicated team. We always joke that this our MyCase family. We have an office culture that second to none and we all truly love being at the office.
What is your favorite part about working in the MyCase office?
Well besides the people I would say that the culture instilled at our office is incredible. From video games to hacky-sack circles each day, the MyCase office is filled with hard work and plenty of fun.
What are you looking forward to in the New Year for MyCase?
It is a secret! I am looking forward to all of the amazing new tools that we are going to be unveiling to our customers. But only I know what those are and I don’t want to ruin the surprise.
Where are you originally from and how long have you been in San Diego?
I was born in New York City and lived in New Jersey for a large part of my youth. After a 12 year stint in Scottsdale, Arizona I landed in San Diego for law school in 2002 and have been here ever since.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
I enjoy spending time with my family first and foremost. I have two girls under the age of 4. When I sneak away from them it is usually for golf, tennis, or rock climbing.
Tell me about your family/pets, etc.?
I have no pets. Just me, my wife, and my two girls, ages 3 and 11 months. My dad and sister also live nearby. I also started MyCase with my cousin, Alex Dikowski, so I do tend to keep some other family pretty close.
Do you have a favorite saying or quote and if so, what is it and why?
Well I am huge movie buff and I tend to quote movies constantly throughout the day. However, I would say that one of the my favorite quotes is something my Dad always says to me: “If you listen to me, you’ll do what you want.” I think that is my Dad’s way of saying that he is going to give me advice and I am probably not going to take it…but I always loved that quote and I think it is applicable in a lot of situations. Plus it is a bit of a Yogi-ism, which I like.
