MyCase is pleased to announce the release of some great new task and messaging features.
Tasks
You have asked for more robust task features and we are very proud to announce a complete redesign of our task features, making MyCase the best practice management program to manage your tasks. Here are some of the features we have added:
Task Checklists
You can now create checklists within Tasks. This means that you can create a task, for example ‘Prepare Motion for Summary Judgement’, and then add a list of subtasks that this task requires i.e. ‘Draft Motion’, ‘Make Copies’, ‘File Motion’, ‘Serve Motion’.
As you complete each subtask, they can be checked as complete. MyCase will show your progress on the overall task as you mark subtasks as complete. There will also be a record of who completed each task and subtask.
Task Filtering
We have released a new design for viewing tasks. We have opened the system up to allow you to easily view tasks that are assigned to you for completion as well as tasks that you have assigned to other people, making it easy to keep track of the important things going on in your law firm.
You can also now group your tasks view into different categories. You can view your tasks grouped by user, priority, or due date, giving you much more flexibility in checking out your tasks in whichever way you find easiest.
These features are accessible from the navigation panel on the left side of the screen in the Tasks tab view.
Messages
Invite Users into Conversation
You can now add other people in your firm into conversations that are already taking place. So long as the conversation was not started as a ‘private’ conversation, you will see a button at the top of the message details screen entitled ‘Invite Users’. Simply click this button to add users into the conversation. This will help immensely for that situation where a client sends a message to a paralegal or staff member and not to the attorney, but the attorney needs to be in the conversation as well.
Redesigned Navigation
You will see a bit of a different look in the message list view. We have stuck with the new left side navigation panel and made it much easier to navigate between your sent and archived messages and to navigate between your messages and forwarded emails.
We hope that you enjoy these features. What’s more–we’re hard at work on many more features and will have those out to you just as soon as we can!
